Prof. S. Shivaji Joish
Former Principal, D. Banumaiah’s College, Mysuru.
I am immensely proud that I am an alumnus of the first batch of Sri Mahavira College, Mudubidire. I have been privileged to be a witness to the Silver Jubilee and Golden Jubilee celebrations of the institution. Behind whatever minuscule achievements I have had in my life and literature are the imperceptible favour of my venerable preceptors and benign alma mater. Most reverentially I bow and salute you my Alma Mater.

Year of Study at SMC: 1986-1988 (PUC-Science, PCMS), 1988-1991(BSc, PCM). College plays a very important role in building up the career of a person in many ways. Our tomorrow depends essentially on what we do today, whether winning fame or future, power or position, wealth or goods. Success in one’s life depends on proper planning and execution of the plan. Fortunately, I got through in Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri. I started my college journey as a PUC Science(PCMS) student followed by B.Sc.(PCM) in SMC. Five years of my educational journey at SMC has played a vital role in building my career. It helped me to discover my own strengths and weaknesses. I developed self-motivation and discipline along with study techniques which I could use for the rest of my life. The education and experience I acquired in SMC have moulded me to shape my career and helped me to discover the professionalism within me. I feel very blessed and proud to state that I had motivating, supporting, enthusiastic and affectionate teachers. They have taught me to carry myself through any uphills and challenges of life. I am very happy to state that the guidance and quality of education from Sri Mahaveera College brought me to this level.
